The Truth About Swans—A Song For America

Swan Song: This term alludes to an old belief that swans normally are mute but burst into beautiful song moments before they die.

• 2028 cannot come soon enough for some of us. When that day arrives an 82-year old U.S. President will be crooning his “swan song,” a cacophony composed of greed, lies, and bombastic rhetoric—that will finally fade into the sunset.

• Swans throughout history have embodied transformation, fidelity and love. The swan is the national bird of both Canada and Finland where they are seen as symbols of beauty, grace and peace.

As Oscar Wilde said,
"Some cause happiness wherever they go;
others, whenever they go.”
