January 20—A Tale of Two Countries

On Jan. 20, 2025 we will inaugurate Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States and on the same day we will celebrate the birthday of the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr.

The contrast between the two men could not be more extreme. One has just been elected as president on a platform of misogyny, racism, divisiveness and lies while the other spent his life fighting for equality and justice.

Only time will tell which way the political winds will blow…..but we can fight to maintain our inalienable rights, work toward making our communities a better place, and stand by the words of Reverend King who declared that—

“the arc of the moral universe is long
but it bends toward justice.”
